Jabberwocke was in iambic pentameter and pleasing to the ears.’coffveve ‘or whatever Trump tweeted was just a jumble of an overtaxed mind. That it was made meaningful and mysterious by his press secretary tells us just how rapidly the wheels are coming off.I confess that the whole mess is daunting and tempting to dismiss as a persisting bad dream. The speculation about narcissistic personality disorder vs.antisocial personality could benefit from professional enlightenment sans diagnosing by the simple explanation that personally disorders have a great deal in common and specific expression is related to the social context in which they emerge. The one thing that makes them intolerable is loss of reality testing which often shows up first as inability to learn from experience.Sometimes I wish that DS’ big tent or magic carpet or clown car/ power racer, could contain some good things for the nation and the world, but the numbers don’t add up,the loss of health care for all of us is real and the loss of world leadership has been replaced by shabby real estate deal making thinking and petty rages against former intimates.I suspect that the Comey testimony( no hero,he)will lead to deal making for pardons and the revolt of the GOP against the bully boy.Unfortunately we may have given up environmental leadership to China as well as having given over Liberal Democracy / Globalism to Germany and France by then.
I’ve read several good stuff here. Definitely worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how much effort you put to make such a great informative website.

As regards “good things for America” Daedal2207 states that “the numbers don’t add up.”
Illegal crossings at the border have numerically plummeted. The business community shows a positive outlook by stock market numbers. It appears that NATO members are starting to meet their financial obligations to the point originally agreed upon which will likely increase the strength of that organization and enhance its ability to resist the aggressive expansion of Russia – and others too. Health care “numbers” need to be better understood: If the number of those “covered by insurance” increases but the number who are actually able to receive quality care diminishes, what indeed do these “numbers” tell us?
As for “environmental leadership” we need to see more clearly the best path to that healthiest environment. Assuming that we ALL want the human future to be lived within the best environment possible why travel to that goal insisting on an unnecessarily painful path? We ought to want the kind of “leadership” that guides us along the healthiest route. The current leadership has reasonable support for applying course corrections to previous efforts.

They only account for roughly 50% of illegal immigration. Is there a discriminating/racist bias in this?

There must be a perverse misunderstanding as to the fear that drives people with no hope to the illegal immigrant status. Our immigration laws allow for nothing short of slave labor, an economic incentive to industries relying on labor pools with inhumane wages paid. There is absolutely no desire to facilitate legal entry into our country. And, yet, the economic benefits to immigration are well documented.

This interpretation is full of fake statements pretending to be facts … a surprise in view of the author’s self-praise to meticulously researched assertions. The below article might assist in pointing out the nuanced elements of NATO’s understanding … not the least of which, in the end, its structure benefits the U.S. very well, thank you.
The healthcare issue has been masticated and digested? in this forum at length.
With regard to environmental and … one can assume … climate control issues, DS claims: “The current leadership has reasonable support for applying course corrections to previous efforts.” With an overwhelming rejection, if not by the world community, certainly by major corporations in the U.S. (granted, not the shrinking/diminishing coal industry), the new dilemma is (borrowing from the right’s favorite source of mockery) … it all depends on what the meaning of the word “reasonable” is.

DS; “Assuming that we ALL want the human future to be lived within the best environment possible why travel to that goal insisting on an unnecessarily painful path?”
Ah! No pain, no gain! “ALL,” a lofty inclusion … but, who are “ALL?” The privileged 0.01%? https://youtu.be/ahpp27WAT2M. Oy vey!!!
That’s right, daedal2207, “the numbers just don’t add up” and flimsy, distorted advocating is … well, fake news.
Dedicating the below to all our readers and participants:
SB writes that diminished illegal crossings at the border “only account 50% of illegal immigration”. Only???
Those who think that tribal (race) identifications are of special significance could (and some would) construe this diminishment of illegal crossings to be “racist”. Let’s get beyond that and acknowledge that INDIVIDUALS immigrate for various reasons, some good and some not so good. Let’s control those who cross our borders such that more good than harm accrues to our future.
To counter the idea that Trump is motivating NATO members to contribute that which was originally agreed upon SB provides a statement by a New York Times reporter who acknowledges that “he has a point” but adds, he “mischaracterizes the way it works”. My reference was to the “numbers” having moved to the favor of all those who can understand the probability that NATO is strengthened by greater financial participation. Let’s hope as SB states, that its structure “benefits the U.S very well” – as well as all others who are sharing in this responsibility.
Given that there are legitimate unknowns as regards the impact for good and for ill (rate of change, controllability, among other factors) related to “climate change”, what method other than “reasonable” would SB recommend? (Or does SB possess CERTAIN knowledge that all is known that needs to be known?)
I wrote that we should strive to avoid unnecessarily painful paths as we strive to gain the best environment possible. I don’t know how she construed what I wrote to imply “no pain, no gain”. It is for the sake of reducing pain that I recommend we be as reasonable as possible. We should not shock or depress our economy such that we would be starved of the very resources required to meet such threats.
“psychological abuse”..”.Chaos is not meant to be norm” profoundly incisive Susanna!.Shoddy rag pickers sprinkled with glitter are bringing close ” the end of days”!
Whatever the disorder, there is nothing coherent in what we are experiencing from the current U. S. administration on a daily, if not hourly, basis. Worse yet, the bully-in-chief is so insecure that there is a deliberate tone of destruction in every action being taken … actions that promote a corruptive and debauching standard. There is no core belief, only the shallow gratification of an ignorant, incurious man/child. Where in the past, there were concerns … justified or unjustified … of possible illegal behaviors hidden in back rooms of politicians, the hubris of blatantly transparent, if not treasonous, unethical conduct is producing disorientation in free fall. The stubborn resistance by the Trump administration (aided by a pusillanimous political party that does not know the difference between power and the country’s interest) to an investigation that is meant to cleanse and restore confidence can only confirm the utter guilt and depth of misconduct. There is no naïveté in the actions of all parties (family included) whose past pattern of behavior has been ruthless, irresponsibly risky, leaving others holding the proverbial bag. The greed is palpable.
daedal2207: “… will lead to deal making for pardons and the revolt of the GOP against the bully boy.”
Yes, sir. Congress is totally paralyzed and (fortunately) their agenda is frozen. The maneuvering with timing must be in how to cut their losses. Should they gamble in dragging this disgrace out and hope to retain their majority in 2018? Or, should they nip the destructive weed in the bud? These considerations are not even involving policy debates … but, how coarse and amoral character harboring myriads of conflicts of interest can be eradicated, restoring advice-and-consent/checks-and-balances governance.
daedal2207: “Unfortunately we may have given up environmental leadership to China as well as having given over Liberal Democracy / Globalism to Germany and France by then.”
We created the vacuum … the inertia towards facing the future … and other hard working societies are ready to claim leadership roles. Bannon urges Trump to walk away from the Paris Climate Accord in order to keep the promise made to his base … the promise of jobs. Really? To the coal miners?
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/05/26/gary-cohn-relaunches-war-on-coal-fuel-from-americas-heartland-doesnt-make-much-sense-anymore/
Let’s all jump off the cliff because of nonsensical bluster spoken on the campaign trail!
Rather than helping/educating our citizens to deal realistically with globalization and technology, the dogma is to spread fear through hate … scapegoating. Things are so chaotic that reality is being questioned. And, honorable people are being sacrificed for their service. Please, congress … cut a deal and end the psychological abuse in which we’re floundering. Chaos is not meant to be the norm … it defeats.
Thank you, daedal2207. Always thought-provoking, sounding the clarion.
